Deskless Workforce
Also: field workforce, frontline workers
The deskless workforce is the large majority of the global workforce that does not work at a desk; in live events, that means stagehands, riggers, security, medics, drivers, caterers, and stewards. Deskless workers rarely carry a company laptop or live in email, so tooling built for office workers fails them in the field; what works is mobile-first, offline-tolerant software with schedules, time clock, tasks, and comms in one place. The COMPVSS field app in the ATLVS ecosystem is built for exactly this population: an offline-first PWA where crew clock in, see shifts, file incidents, and read their event guide from a phone.
