URID

Also: URID grammar, resource identifier, classification code

A URID is an identifier following the XPMS grammar DEPT.DISCIPLINE.CATEGORY: the department class, the discipline within it, and the category of work. The grammar gives every kind of production work a stable, sortable address, so a budget line, a task in a plan, and an item in a catalog can all point to the same identifier and reconcile cleanly. XPMS 3.0 spans 10 department classes and 79 disciplines under this grammar. In the Atlas ecosystem, URIDs key the catalog and knowledge surfaces, tying priced atoms and templates back to the standard.
