Rigging
Also: rig, rigging crew
Rigging is the discipline of suspending heavy production gear (lighting trusses, line arrays, video walls, scenic) safely from a venue's structural points. Rigging crews work with the venue's rig plot to identify load-bearing points, calculate point loads and distributed loads, and rig motors, chains, and trusses. Rigging is among the highest-injury disciplines on a production; reputable shops use third-party rigging inspections before doors.
