Point Load
Also: static load
A point load is the static weight applied at a single suspension point in a venue's rigging structure — a single beam clamp, a single motor pickup. Venues publish rated capacities per point (e.g., 1,000 lbs per beam), and riggers must ensure no single point exceeds rated capacity. Point load math is on every rigging plot; modern production tools track it per suspension point with margins.
