Atlas vs. Blink

Compass vs. Blink: the production field record vs. the frontline employee app.

Blink's bet is that frontline workers deserve one front door: a feed that actually reaches them, chat, a hub for policies and links, and SSO into the systems behind it. For large distributed workforces, hospitals, transit, retail chains, that front door is the product. A production crew needs reaching too, and Compass carries the feed, channels and per-kind notification controls. The difference is what sits under them: on Compass the announcement, the shift, the incident, the punch item and the custody move are rows in one org record, not links out to other systems.

Bottom line
If the problem is reaching thousands of distributed frontline employees with one well-built front door, Blink is a strong pick. If the problem is running and proving field work, Compass is the record the comms sit on.

Where We Win.

Comms attached to the work

A feed post about tomorrow's load-in sits on the same record as the shifts, the gate and the punch list it is about. The message and the work are one store, not an app pointing at other apps.

The field work itself is native

Punches, scans, incidents, custody and close-out are Compass primitives, not integrations behind a front door.

Offline is the default

Production sites lose signal. The feed you read, the punch you file and the scan at the gate all work offline and replay with provenance.

When Blink Wins.

We're not the right call for every room. These are the cases where they are.

  • You are a large distributed employer, transit, healthcare, retail, whose core problem is reach and engagement across thousands of frontline employees. That is the product Blink publishes.
  • You want one branded front door with SSO into an existing stack of scheduling, HR and ops systems you are keeping.

Migration Path.

For teams moving from Blink.

  1. Export the employee directory as CSV; it maps to Compass crew, joined by invite or org code
  2. Move announcements to the Compass feed first; retire the old channels once read rates hold

vs. Blink · FAQ

Is Compass an intranet like Blink?
No, and it does not try to be. The feed and channels cover crew comms; policies, courses and SOPs live in Legend on the same platform. What Compass adds that an intranet cannot is the work record itself: shifts, punches, scans, incidents, custody.
Can announcements reach crew who are not at a desk?
That is the only kind of crew Compass knows. Push notifications with per-kind opt-outs, an offline-readable feed, and read tracking on announcements.
