ATLVS vs. Workyard

COMPVSS vs. Workyard: production site ops vs. construction time tracking with GPS.

Workyard picked a hard problem and does it well: GPS time records accurate enough for construction billing, hours coded to jobs and cost codes, payroll-ready output. If your business bills labor to construction projects, that precision is the product. A production crew needs the location-honest time record too, and COMPVSS punches are geofenced for exactly that reason, but the site record does not stop at hours: gates scan credentials offline, incidents carry anonymous filing and manager sign-off, punch lists and daily logs close out the build, and gear moves with a custody chain.

Bottom line
For contractors billing GPS-verified hours to construction jobs, Workyard's focus is the right tool. For production sites where hours are one record among many, COMPVSS carries the whole set.

Where We Win.

Hours are one record, not the record

A production closes out on more than a timesheet: the incident chain, the punch list, the daily log, the custody trail on gear. COMPVSS keeps them on one org store with the hours.

The gate is part of the site

Credentialed sites need a gate that scans offline and journals every result. A time tracker has no gate; COMPVSS treats it as a first-class surface.

Load-in headcount is not a bill

Per-user pricing on a 300-hand build week is real money. Per-org pricing is not.

When Workyard Wins.

We're not the right call for every room. These are the cases where they are.

  • You are a construction contractor billing labor to jobs and cost codes, where Workyard's published GPS precision and job-costing focus is the product.
  • Your payroll and billing dispute defense depends on location-stamped time records above all else, and you want the tool that leads with exactly that.

Migration Path.

For teams moving from Workyard.

  1. Export Workyard workers, hours and job codes as CSV; they map to COMPVSS crew, time entries and project records
  2. Scenic and fabrication shops often cut over between jobs: bill the running job out of Workyard, open the next production on COMPVSS

vs. Workyard · FAQ

Are COMPVSS punches location-verified like Workyard's?
Punches are geofenced against the site's configured zones and journaled with provenance. Workyard publishes finer-grained GPS trail tracking than a geofence; if a continuous location trail is your requirement, that is their lane.
Does COMPVSS do job costing?
Hours land on the production's record and the operator console carries budgets and cost reporting per project. Cost-code-level construction billing in the field app itself is not what COMPVSS is.

ATLVS Is Open.
